DIY Horseshoe Handle Bread Board

This is my third horseshoe project.
I'm on a roll gallup!
First the handled tray, then the LUCK
sign for St. Patrick's Day
and now a breadboard.
I found three pieces of wood in the garage.
I am attaching  horseshoes at each end
 to use as a handle.
I cleaned the horseshoes the same way
I did in my previous projects.
I sanded the edges to make the board look
worn. I gave it several coats of mineral oil.
(pharmacy section of your grocery store.)
The horseshoes are nailed on.
Another rubdown with my oily rag...Done.
A great little board for serving bread
or use as a cheese appetizer tray.
Here's Tracey, my horseshoe dealer.
We played tennis this morning and she has
an endless supply from the
stables where she gives riding lessons.
So, find a stable near you!
my kitchen orchids
(orchid photo thrown in just because)
I'll be making her a breadboard next.

Happy Trails To You!

  2. How creative! I love coming to your blog for all your lovely posts, but also listening to "Summer Place", which somehow places me and my mind at the beach and entirely relaxed. Thanks so much for your playlist.

    Blessings,

  5. Rita, this is soooo original!!!!!!!!! Only you can make this. Love this. Puts a smile on my face. Now I shall go and find a local horse place, which should be easy around here... Thank you for sharing this at the 'Time for a party'-linky, at the Fine Craft Guild.
