Last Week Of Thanksgiving Decor

I'm keeping my fall and Thanksgiving things
out until the day after Thanksgiving.
I must say it's been a temptation to
sneak in a little Christmas this week.
I found this large turkey platter at the thrift
store. It was part of 'fill a box' for $5.00.
I piled it high! Now it's been sitting on the
back of the stove top all month.
 Chicken feeder plate rack.
These plates along with the turkey dishes
were used in the breakfast room all month.
 The cobbler's bench.
The tray basket on the breakfast bar corner.
 November set-up.
 Hall entry table.
 Family room sofa table.
Thankful tag tied onto a wine bottle filled with
little white lights says it all.....
Happy Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin Crazy!

What happens to people in the fall?
In October and November?
We love all things pumpkin! Bread, Pie,
Pancakes, Waffles, Soup, Muffins, Bars,
Cheesecake, and Cookies!
Here are a few of my favorites:
Just click on the picture captions for
 the recipe link.
Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting
These are like a pumpkin cake,
but small enough for a quick treat.
Autumn Granola
Autumn Granola has pumpkin seeds,
cinnamon, brown sugar and maple syrup.
Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

Even easier are these using only two ingredients!
Easy Pumpkin Spice Muffins
Pumpkin Bites
Like mini cupcakes.
Favorite Pumpkin Pie
I must include my favorite pumpkin pie.
Next is an easy chocolate muffin that uses
pumpkin as the 'secret' ingredient.
No one will guess!
Easy Chocolate Muffins
Todays breakfast treat.
Pumpkin Waffles
I'm thankful for PUMPKIN !

Cheers!

Wine Cork Garland & Wreath

Have you been saving wine corks?
I had enough for a garland and a
small wreath.
It was easiest for me to just
drill holes in all the corks. I kept
them steady in a vice.
I have fishing line stored in a tennis can
with a hole punched in the lid for a dispenser.
I use tennis cans for everything!
It's easy to thread the fishing line through
the corks with the pre-drilled holes.
It goes very fast.
I stopped when I had enough for my space.
I decided to drape it in front of the cobbler's
bench in my living room.
It worked well with my fall accents.
I think the garland would look nice on a
Christmas tree too.
I could add red wooden balls between
the cork for my next garlands.
To hang it, I cut a piece of wire hanger and
bent it into a hook. The hook slipped into the
slots that are in the cobbler's bench.
Now, for the wreath.
I had enough corks left for a simple little
wreath just useing a wire clothes hanger.
Thread on the corks.
Bend it into a circle and use the hook
to hang it from my chicken wire
cabinet doors in the kitchen.
I tied on raffia to hide the hook.
A little wreath for the kitchen.
I can change the raffia for
any seasonal color ribbon.
Endless possibilities.

Cheers!

Thanksgiving Table

I've had the dining room set up for Fall
for weeks, so I could use it even if we
are not hosting for the BIG day.
The straw turkey, or is it the
turkey in the straw?
 Pilgrims
Evesham china
New chargers from Walmart. I used them in
 the breakfast nook for October.
Set up for a small dinner....for now.
Cheers!

THANKFUL Bunting

A THANKFUL bunting.
I just needed to  print, cut, and string.
Print it on card stock and cut out.
I choose light grey (that's what I had).
My daughter Kim, who's visiting from Texas,
picked out the nubby yarn to go with her
decor. I punched two holes at the top.
DONE!
I found the printable at Bloom Designs.
This is an easy craft gift to pack in your
suitcase or send in the mail
 Nice for monograms too.
I liked how it looked on the living room sofa
table when I took the picture,
so now I'll need to make one for me too.
Day 18 ~Thankful for computers and printers,
and thankful Kim came for the weekend.

Thankful you're here too!
Cheers!

My No Time For Breakfast, Breakfast

 This is my default breakfast.
Peanut butter on toast. George and I are
thankful for peanut butter and toast.
It goes great with my morning coffee
and we're really thankful for coffee, especially
when it's freshly brewing in the kitchen when
we wake up in the morning. Really thankful!
I close my eyes and inhale the aroma.
Good morning!
Occasionally, I, a breakfast lover, just don't
have the time or interest for my usual
breakfasts and crave something easy,
fast, and simple. This has everything I need
to get me out the door in the morning,
usually to play tennis, so I need to eat
something. So we're thankful for; toast,
peanut butter, coffee, and morning tennis.
Simple pleasures........

Cheers!

DIY Coasters

I'm repurposing regular cardboard beverage
coasters with a little paper and glue.
I want to use them on the table under
 the wine glasses.
I started out with these 'restaurant'
coasters. I had a a good size stack of them.
I traced them onto wrapping paper.
Then I just cut and glued them on
using  Mod Podge.
I weighed them down with a few heavy
encyclopedias to keep them flattened.
I then applied 2 coats of Mod Podge
to the top and let that dry a overnight.
I wanted to do these right away using
the materials I had on hand.  I could make
a gazillion of them.
I spotted this easy craft project on
  French Country Cottage
They would be 'gift-worthy' if I used
thicker cork tiles and then cut them to
coaster size to a 4" square or circle.
The next time I'm at the home store,
 I'll pick up some cork.
Think of the possibilities!
Cheers!
