Organizing The Pantry

I use the kitchen cabinets for food
storage instead of my tall pantry
which I've converted into a dish pantry.
I store everything in Tupperware. That way
every inch is used and I can stack them,
they are visible and everything stays fresh.
Next to that cabinet is this corner cabinet.
It has 4 large turntables from BBB.

It holds cans, jars and bottles.
I love turntables. They are one of the
The next cabinet holds smaller turntables.
This cabinet is next to the stove so it holds
spices and things I use while cooking.
I'm always tweaking my system
I moved the sugar and flour to glass
canisters on the counter. I bake a several
times a week so they are handy there and
it gave me more room in the cabinet to add
 a few more turntables.
More turntables are a good thing!
Full cabinet view. The top shelf holds seldom
used small appliances.
Everything gets a label, another of my
Here's my pantry before I commandeered
Here's the dish pantry after.

  1. How nice! I love being organized like this! And I have my sugar and flour in the exact same canisters! In fact, I have a dozen of those..for pastas, rice, brown sugar, you name it! So fun!

  2. You are definitely THE most organized person I know, and I am jealous of your skill!!!! Can I ask you, are the square/rectangular cantainers on the bottom shelf on SQUARE turntables???? I have never seen square ones. I, too, use ALOT of turntables but don't have everything in Tupperware. I love thaty idea. Do you cut out cooking directions from the box to out in the Tupperware??? Sorry this is so long:):) I want to come to your house and see it in person!!!!!!!!!!! UP close!!!!LOL! XO, Pinky

  3. Doesn't that look spiffy! I use my kitchen cabinets for canned and boxed goods too. The little closet that was supposed to be a pantry is our "junk" closet - holding lightbulbs, batteries, and all other sorts of miscellaneous household supplies. Your dish closet is just wonderful too!

  4. It's gotta feel so good to be so organized! Do you want to move onto my house next!!

  5. Wow that is amazing. I love that you created a dish pantry....And I love what you did with the door. II just recently reorganized my pantry, and used the OXO containers to do so. I love that I can quickly see what we have and what we don't have so that i am not buying more and more of what we don't need!! Turnables are a great organizing tool as well:) Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas with us!!

  6. I think those turn tables are a great idea. And to switch your pantry to your dish storage, I bet that is very functional! Have you had a chance to check out our little Challenge? It's not too late to join. My project update post just went up.

    I am your newest follower!

  7. I love your dish storage! Fantastic! Very organized pantry... My Virgo-ness loves it! Have a great day. XO Cindy

  8. Wow! I feel like I should be in there getting my cabinets in order instead of lazing the day away here reading my favorite blogs! You are an awesome organizer, there is not a single place in my house that is even close to being that organized! If I could only have a little of your skill I'd be happy!

  9. I can only dream about a pantry like that. Awesome job!!

  10. Do you make house calls?

    Betty @ Country Charm

  11. I'm that my dreams! That is perfection.

  12. It is all so perfect that I just can't stand it. I love it and have to save it for ideas for my own pantry.

  13. Just found your lovely blog. I'm in love with your cabinets! I am an organization freak but you have me beat. Today I've been going through all my husband's drawers in his office (he's out of town!!!)and have organized all his stuff. Hope he doesn't kill me when he gets home:) Now I'm off to check out the rest of your blog. I know I'll have fun. Come visit me sometimes at cherischatter!

  14. Wow -please come and organize my cabinets!!!! I like your idea of switching the pantry to a dish closet and love what you did to the doors!!
Could you tell me if you have found a good source for turntables?

  15. Your are one of the most organized women! I love how you switched out the cabinets, and so like the chicken wire on the now dish pantry, I'm just starting on reorganizing my pantry which is in the basement - ugh but it a really nice size. I thought I was some what organized until I seen your kitchen. I really like the colors of your kitchen. Thanks for sharing your organization inspiration at Sunday's Best.

  16. Amazing - I am afraid of turntables but you give me courage, I have never seen them used so liberally!

  17. This is a great idea! Do we need to have an "intervention" about the turntable-thing? Heehee!

  18. Looks great!! I'm just finishing up my pantry organizing too (and will blog about it soon too!!!)

(came here through a stroll through life blog)

  19. 15 years ago, when I lived in Fl, I started put dry goods in glass or plastic containers to protect food against humidity and possible bugs. Still my habit. However, your cabinets take this to a whole nuther level, my dream. Thanks so very much for sharing

  20. I love your organization! I'm going to be keeping my eye out for more turn tables. How fun to turn the pantry into a dish pantry! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

  21. WOW! Talk about ORGANIZED!! Bet your Tupperware Lady loves YOU!!

  22. I have a tall pantry in kitchen too and cannot find a thing in there it is just too deep.
I actually thought of putting extra dishes in there after hubby builds a new pantry in laundry room I may give this a try before it is finished. Thanks, always an inspiration....

  23. Woah, I`ve never seen so many lazy Suzan`s! My head is spinning! (pun intended hehe) I organize my kitchen the other way around from you, pantry exclusively for food, and cupboards exclusively for dishes etc, but I like the effect you got here! It`s true that it`s sad when you got pretty dishes and they are cooped up in cupboards.

Ooooh, I'm so happy someone else is a label maker! My hubby teases me all the time when he sees my storage containers labeled, but it sure makes it a breeze to find things. Since it's cold now in MI, we've decided to tackle our basement - your organization skills will keep me inspired - thank you!

  25. I wish my pantry was that neat! You have inspired me to get busy and straighten it up!

  26. Somebody already said it, so I'm "ditto-ing"--I thought I was pretty organized, but you've beaten me by a long shot! Wow! It all looks so nice and neat! :) And I thought I could squeeze more stuff into my storage, but I also saw your napkins and linens and antique cabinets--you win!! LOL I'm following you now! :) ~Zuni

  27. Wow, what a great post! I would love it if you linked your tips up to my organization link party this week. I know my readers would love to see them:
