Organizing The Pantry

I use the kitchen cabinets for food
storage instead of my tall pantry
which I've converted into a dish pantry.
I store everything in Tupperware. That way
every inch is used and I can stack them,
they are visible and everything stays fresh.
Next to that cabinet is this corner cabinet.
It has 4 large turntables from BBB.

It holds cans, jars and bottles.
I love turntables. They are one of the
The next cabinet holds smaller turntables.
This cabinet is next to the stove so it holds
spices and things I use while cooking.
I'm always tweaking my system
I moved the sugar and flour to glass
canisters on the counter. I bake a several
times a week so they are handy there and
it gave me more room in the cabinet to add
 a few more turntables.
More turntables are a good thing!
Full cabinet view. The top shelf holds seldom
used small appliances.
Everything gets a label, another of my

  2. You are definitely THE most organized person I know, and I am jealous of your skill!!!! Can I ask you, are the square/rectangular cantainers on the bottom shelf on SQUARE turntables???? I have never seen square ones. I, too, use ALOT of turntables but don't have everything in Tupperware. I love thaty idea. Do you cut out cooking directions from the box to out in the Tupperware??? Sorry this is so long:):) I want to come to your house and see it in person!!!!!!!!!!! UP close!!!!LOL! XO, Pinky

  3. Doesn't that look spiffy! I use my kitchen cabinets for canned and boxed goods too. The little closet that was supposed to be a pantry is our "junk" closet - holding lightbulbs, batteries, and all other sorts of miscellaneous household supplies. Your dish closet is just wonderful too!

  5. Wow that is amazing. I love that you created a dish pantry....And I love what you did with the door. II just recently reorganized my pantry, and used the OXO containers to do so. I love that I can quickly see what we have and what we don't have so that i am not buying more and more of what we don't need!! Turnables are a great organizing tool as well:) Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas with us!!

  8. Wow! I feel like I should be in there getting my cabinets in order instead of lazing the day away here reading my favorite blogs! You are an awesome organizer, there is not a single place in my house that is even close to being that organized! If I could only have a little of your skill I'd be happy!

  19. 15 years ago, when I lived in Fl, I started put dry goods in glass or plastic containers to protect food against humidity and possible bugs. Still my habit. However, your cabinets take this to a whole nuther level, my dream. Thanks so very much for sharing

  22. I have a tall pantry in kitchen too and cannot find a thing in there it is just too deep.
I actually thought of putting extra dishes in there after hubby builds a new pantry in laundry room I may give this a try before it is finished. Thanks, always an inspiration....

  23. Woah, I`ve never seen so many lazy Suzan`s! My head is spinning! (pun intended hehe) I organize my kitchen the other way around from you, pantry exclusively for food, and cupboards exclusively for dishes etc, but I like the effect you got here! It`s true that it`s sad when you got pretty dishes and they are cooped up in cupboards.

Ooooh, I'm so happy someone else is a label maker! My hubby teases me all the time when he sees my storage containers labeled, but it sure makes it a breeze to find things. Since it's cold now in MI, we've decided to tackle our basement - your organization skills will keep me inspired - thank you!

  26. Somebody already said it, so I'm "ditto-ing"--I thought I was pretty organized, but you've beaten me by a long shot! Wow! It all looks so nice and neat! :) And I thought I could squeeze more stuff into my storage, but I also saw your napkins and linens and antique cabinets--you win!! LOL I'm following you now! :) ~Zuni
