A Big Roo

I got this enormous rooster from a friend
that is moving to North Carolina.
She has no room for a roo this size.
He's made out of hand painted metal
 and needed a new home.
I finally decided to put him up high.
On top of the wood cornice shelf that wraps
around the breakfast area windows and door.
He just fits up there!
He can keep my ceramic rooster company.
It all seems to go with my two
farm scene watercolors.
 This was the space before.
The big bonus is that it's also a
memento of a friendship.
How nice is that?

  1. Aww...wasn't that sweet of your friend? I love your Roo she gave you and you've found the perfect spot for him.
    Love your shelf display.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  2. What a handsome fellow! Great spot for him too!

  3. Cock-a-doodle-do! What a great rooster, and as you say a bonus as it will always remind you of a great friendship :o) It looks great in the breakfast area.
    Have a great week.

  4. I love him! He's so big! I've got a soft spot for farm creature statuary. He looks great where you put him with his fellow poultry

I'd love for you to link this up at my party:

  5. My grandma used to collect Roosters. I like them ;) Newest GFC follower from hop. Love for you to follow back. Hosting Moms Monday Mingle now. Love for you to link up your blog.

  6. Isn't he a handsome proud fella! And yes mementos of friendship are among the best kind.

  7. love the cornice shelf above the breakfast windows, great idea for us collectors! Your friends rooster would have fit right in here in NC!

  8. A very nice moment of your friend...I am sure you will look at that rooster each day and think of her....I am in NC and she will love it!

  9. Love your new roo! He would look great anywhere...even in a sunporch or by the fireplace or in the garden. I'm in NC, as well!

  10. I am in love with Roos, and love your new one, especially one that is filled with memories. Love his new home and glad to see he will have a friend keep him company! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday's Best.
