The Blue Bedroom

The blue guest bedroom went from plain white walls to this wall treatment.
We painted the top half a deep
golden yellow. On the bottom half we
added a board and batten look with
a horizontal 1x4 around the room
 at 51" high.
We added 1x2 strips vertically 12" apart.
We painted it all out in gloss white.
The antique armoire is topped with a collection of bears.
We replaced the carpet with bamboo hardwood floors.
Ralph Lauren navy and white bedding
are on the four poster full-sized bed.
Here's the before.

I'm planning on continuing this room's
metemorphosis again soon.
 I'll remove the wallpaper border
and add molding.  The change the window treatment,
sell the bed and bring in my antique iron bed
and go from there using things I have.

Cheers!

  3. The blue and yellow combination just cannot be beat! I have a blue and yellow quilt that my grandmother made. It's one of my treasures.
