Antique Wicker Sitting Area

I finally refurbished my antique wicker.
Here it is in the after of my
bedroom sitting area.
I played around in Photobucket
using special effects.
Here is the area before.
(More in my next post)
I sold the old sectional on craigslist.
I love it. It looks so much better.
I've also added a few rattan pieces.
I'm still using the antique maple trunk.
I brought in a Chinese blue and white garden
seat to use for a small end table.
It's just the right size
to hold a cup of tea and a book.
Everything was gathered from around
the house.
The rattan pieces were part of my
in-laws set.
I covered the seat cushions on the couch
with a quilted throw and the pillows are
covered with standard size shams.
The wicker bedside table.
Wait until you see the before
in my next post. I'll show you
all the pieces in their before state.
The view from the bed. I'm so glad I found
a place for everything I had.
It makes me happy every time I look at it.

  1. I LOVE your change! It's PERFECT!!! I bet you can't stop looking at it... I love wicker, like I love lace. I find they enhance without blocking a beautiful view or place. I find the sectionals are too overpowering and take on a "LOOK AT ME" attitude. Your sitting area is so warm and inviting now. (((LOVE IT)))!
    Thank you for sharing.
    Big Hugs,

  2. Just gorgeous Rita May, your changes are lovely. Your bedroom looks wonderful, to not come out of it for a while. Wiecker it's so warm and inviting, it also evokes the past. I love your sitting area, it's so inviting and ready for a good book read and a cup of tea. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your week.

  7. This looks like it belongs in a magazine! Seriously! And I love the pencil sketch that you did in Photobucket! You should sell that as a print :)

    Thanks for inspiring me today!

  8. Your bedroom is exquisite. At first look I thought it was a sunroom. Then I saw your bed. What a beautiful room. My favourite colour is blue and your room suits me to a tea. You did a wonderful job and thank you for the inspiration to complete my own bedroom. Have a wonderful day.
