A Leaf Motif

I made these paper paper leaf napkin rings
years ago and provided the link to
Martha Stewart for the printable.
It's has since been removed.
(Click on paper napkin rings  for a printable.)
As soon as I find a printable for you I will
add it and update this post.
This Longaberger 36" fabric square is in the falling leaves pattern.
I topped a wrought iron candle stand with 3
small ball jars to use as candle holders.
I was thinking "outside the basket" with these
chargers. They are flat wooden lids to
Longaberger baskets.
Gold flatware accents the plate's gold edge.
You can use real or faux apples for these placecard holders.
Just punch a hole in card stock for the tags
(I used scraps of file folders),
and slip it onto the stem and tie on a little raffia.
Add a leaf here and there.
I even bought this inexpensive wine because of the label.
A little foliage in a fall basket.
Orange napkins folded in a basket.
 Time to light the candles.
Each night it's been getting darker a little earlier.
The candles give off a nice glow in the jars.
The season for candlelit dinners is on it's way.

  1. Hello Rita,

I'm a recent follower and I just wanted to let you know how much I love your blog! I was first attracted to your blog when I caught the blue/yellow table in your breakfast room - It's me! Then I read that you are in Florida (I'm in Miami) and the more I've read I've realized that our homes and our decorating tastes are pretty similar (great validation for me, especially when I bring home a "treasure" and my family asks what I plan to do with that "junk"!)

Keep on writting your excellent blog and sharing your fabulous pictures, you've got a faithful fan in Miami!

  2. That is a great idea for the chargers. Your table is lovely.

  3. Hey! Another person who buys wine for the pretty labels! Your table is so beautiful...thank you so much for sharing it with us!

  4. Great ideas all! LOVE the paper leaf napkin rings. I gotta try that one. Its funny you bought the wine because of the pretty label. I am a wine snob but I have even bought wine because of the label that matched a certain decor. haha That made me smile. Thank you so much for joining in the very first Keep It Simple. Blessings, Barb

  5. Hi Rita, I totally love it...have to do this. Thanks!

    Barb ♥

  6. I just love how everything goes together but doesn't 'match.' You've created a lovely feeling instead of a static look. I especially like the Bell jar candleholders and the apple place card holders.

  7. Very cute and creative. Love the charger idea.
    (Also loving the music!)

  8. Love it all, Rita, the candlelight really adds such a wonderful glow. Thanks so much for linking up the inspiration at VIF! xo

  9. You always come up with some of the coolest ideas, Rita! That apple place card is the best! I will have to remember that one! Have a great weekend!

  10. It all looks absolutely lovely Rita and I love the napkins tucked into the basket like that! I'm going to copy that idea for sure. I love your 'leaf motif' and we appreciate you sharing it with us at Inspiration Friday this week!

  11. Very pretty! Looks so cozy and inviting -- love the napkin rings and the jars for the candles!

  12. Love this! I would love to just site there with a glass of wine and cozy in :)
    Have a great week!
