3-Tier Galvanized Tray w Blue Cups

This 3-tier galvanized tray has become

a harbinger of the coming seasons. 

 

It needed a quick change after I removed the 

Valentine mugs last month. A new vignette 

before I decorated for the Spring holidays; 

St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

 I gathered lots of my blue and white tea 

cups in assorted patterns and piled them on.

 My thrifted set of espresso cups fit on top.

My $3.00 Garage Sale Finds

How $3.00 can make you happy.
The annual Cooper City Neighborhood 

Garage Sale was on last weekend's 

list of activities and places to go.

A beautiful day to walk the grounds and see 

what might need a new home with moi'. I

found this cranberry red tea pot for $1.00!!

It's also a cute coffee pot.

I can make coffee using a filter cone

 top and the drip method. I don't have to 

tell you how many holidays this little 

ceramic pot will see. 

 The same vendor also had this stack of 8 

dishes for $2.00!! Because he was a man he

 neglected to point out how perfectly they 

matched my newly purchased tea pot and 

what a lovely table setting they would make

 for lunch, brunch or tea...but

I figured that out right away. 

 Now in the back of my mind I thought the 

color would match a set of Longaberger

 mugs I have and I was right.

 You can just imagine the joy!

 The ivory background on the plates works

with my Longaberger ivory pottery. 

So it keeps getting better.

 Now for that mix-and-match look, 

I used my red transferware. Better still!

 So these 8 plates for $2.00 have 

completely expanded my plate "wardrobe". 

 I have 4 of these mugs and one or two 

red Longaberger plates to mix in.

 You'll be seeing them again in July when  

I do the Americana color scheme. 

 But I just had to play with them a bit before

putting them in my dish cupboard

This is the brand on the bottom of the dishes.

I haven't Googled it yet, but I like that it's 

an American company in Beaver Falls, PA. 

Sounds like a nice town. I'm sure someone

enjoyed a nice piece of homemade apple pie

 on one of these plates. :)

Confessions Of A Plate Addict

Thrift Store White Mugs

The Valentine's mugs are have been stored in

the mug cabinet and the Valentine's decor is

in bins and baskets for next year. So that 

means it's time for a fresh look. 

 Picking out the mugs for these next few
weeks was a fun decision...as it always is.

 I decided to go all white this time. I found all
 these mugs over the years at the thrift store
 for 25¢ each. I picked out different shapes
to keep it interesting and so that we could
remember which mug we were using.

 A white tea pot for those afternoon tea breaks
along with a Longaberger tea basket that's
filled with packets of different tea flavors. 

 Of curse you'll need a treat for the afternoon. 

What's tea or coffee without a goodie?

 I made the banana bread in 2 small loaf
 pans this time. One for now and
one in the freezer.

Of course I'll share the recipe.

The Changing Of The Mugs

Fall means it's time to change the mugs from

my blue collection to the autumn color mugs.

 I do this late September. 

 I love mugs and many have been 

found in thrift stores. 

I definitely enjoy my morning coffee more

in a mug that gets me in the seasonal mood.

Who wouldn't want fall leaves on a mug?

Has anyone tried the pumpkin spice flavor

English muffins? They are great toasted,

buttered, and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

A  nice treat for the pumpkin obsession that

seems to come over us each fall.

Red, White, and Blue

It's time to show your colors!

 It's time to use the Americana mugs I 

found thrifting this year. I'm always on the 

look-out for holiday mugs for 25¢.

The Coffee Station

Do you have a coffee station? 

Seems everybody has one!

 I've always had one even before they
became "coffee stations". It only makes
sense to gather everything together in
one spot for making coffee; 

the coffee maker, filters, pretty mugs,
creamers, sugar, spoons and
whatever else you use. 

Mine is on a small counter next to the 

refrigerator. I change the look of it almost

 every month.

If you've been following me for a while you
have seen the changes through the holidays.

I use different mugs, or a tray, or baskets  

to keep it interesting.

You can create your own coffee station with 

what you already have. You just need a 

designated space; like on the counter, a cart, 

a chest, a small table. 

Whatever works for you.  

It's a great little spot for creating an

inviting seasonal or holiday theme.

March ~ St. Patrick's Day

Spring ~ Easter

Remember to always store your coffee in an 

opaque container-no glass. Light is not good
for coffee. If you use glass, keep it in the
cabinet above, away from the light.

Several variations for Fall.

 I find seasonal mugs at thrift stores.

Christmas stations.

It goes up the day after Thanksgiving.

 Canisters filled with coffee, filters and tea.

Valentine's Day is all about hearts. 

All February.
