Christmas Cobbler's Bench

The cobbler's bench is my favorite piece of antique furniture. I found it at an estate sale and could have sold it three times carrying it out of the house. Larry almost succumbed to offers. It found a niche in our Florida living room. It's a buffet that gets the trimmings at Christmas. It's my mantle stand-in.
Window pane mirrors reflect the living room tree.
A lighted wreath and silver JOY letters rest on the panes.
My silver coffee and tea service
We drilled a hole in a pretty wine bottle and added a small string of mini lights.
Lots of sparkle with silver and crystal.

Cheers!

Just A Little Sparkle

Kept it simple on the dining room table for the week after Thanksgiving.
But I did add a little sparkle.
Starting with a beautiful silk table runner trimmed with crystals and silver and gold thread.
A gift last Christmas from my BFF Cathy.
The tiered stand displays Royal Dalton china that's trimmed in gold.
Wedgwood crystal by Ralph Lauren vases and a collection of Waterford candlesticks.
simple evergreens
A nice transition from the Fall Thanksgiving decor.

Cheers!

New CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST and BLOG BACKGROUND

Christmas Mug Shots.  I'm decorating my blog
for Christmas. I love Christmas music, so starting
the Fridaymorning after Thanksgiving,
that's what we have playing! Christmas music
and coffee in a Christmas mug.
 That's what starts our day!
It's a tradition I look forward to each year.
Cheers!

Thanksgiving Table Grace

We sing our traditional Thanksgiving prayer.

We thank thee, Father, for thy care
And for thy bounty everywhere;
For this and every other gift,
Our grateful hearts to thee we lift.
Amen

Happy Thanksgiving!

Walking The Doggies...and The Best Tuna Melt

We took a long walk with the doggies and headed over to The Town Center.
Our mission was to satisfy a craving for the best tuna melt...ever!
The Cheese Course, a great sandwich and salad bistro.
 It has an amazing selection of  specialty cheeses;
 accompaniments and serveware.
An extensive menu board to choose from.
We always like to eat outside.
Especially on such a perfect  Florida day.
The doggies can be close by. They can ride in the stroller when they get tired because the 3 mile walk is too much for them. They get some cold water and a sampling of bread in a shady spot.
This is it! White Albacore tuna with Gruyere cheese and greens warmed on a crusty French baguette.
Very satisfying!

Silver Love

Getting ready for the holiday season.
Gathering some of my silver pieces to give them a must-needed polish.
 Before
 After
After
Many years ago a friend needed to borrow some of my silver trays for a baby shower.
Before
She said she needed 17!  I said "don't be ridiculous! I don't have 17 silver trays."
After
She said "I bet you do". So we waked thru my house and gathered all the trays that I was using in all the rooms and I had 17 to give her!
