Rainy Saturday Lunch

After doing our usual morning to-dos we
headed out for a long 1-1/2 hour brisk walk
 before the rains came.
On our way back home the conversation
rolled into what we could have for lunch...
a typical topic for discussion.
It was a good day for a classic:
grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
I quickly made a batch of tomato soup with
fresh basil and parmesan on top and
 Larry grilled the sandwiches using
whole grain bread and slices of good cheddar.
Also a good day to start the new best-seller
I just picked up at the library or watch DVDs.
Maybe even make popcorn.
Cheers!

  2. Now that sounds like a perfect day! Nothing better than toasted/grilled cheese and soup on a cold or rainy day. My hubby makes a great toasted cheese! But the best is at a local sandwich shop...Grilled 3 Cheese. So yummy!

  5. I was just wondering what to fix for a light dinner tonight and I'm thinking this sounds pretty good. My husband and I have been in to fixing up all kinds of different "fancy" grilled cheeses here lately. We actually have our own little competition to see who can come up with the best grilled cheese (yes, we really are that boring =)
