We replaced that top with the butcher block HERE. He also made the shelves to accommodate six large Longaberger baskets.
I use the baskets to store my large collection of table napkins.
I can pull each basket out completely.
I try to group them by color.
I have lots of blue and white.
And yellow.
The top row baskets hold napkins that are used the most.
Lucky is supervising.
The holiday ones (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) are stored in the bins with the holiday decorations.
This is a convenient storage spot next to the breakfast nook.
Cheers!
Rita

That looks great. You have a lot of napkins! I think I'll put a link to this on my studio organizing blog. This is storage that could work for a plethora of supplies...fabric comes to mind immediately. Thanks for sharing. Connie
ReplyDeleteGreat piece and it adds so much storage! I would love to go shopping in your baskets...especially the blue one.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I'm a huge basket lover. I even have mine in the refrigerator! Looks just perfect and very attractive storage! I love organization too!

Great repurposing of the countertop -- and a fabulous and functional way to store your linens!
ReplyDeleteWonderful storage idea.. easy access and all sorted. Your husband did a marvelous job on the counter.
ReplyDeleteI really need something like that! I have them all over the place!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! I love it! Can I come shop for napkins? I love Lucky too! Share this for Tea Time Tuesday! I love seeing storage ideas! This was great!
ReplyDeleteI just love to see such beautiful organization! And color coordinated! You sure know the way to my heart! :D

Rita, what a fabulous idea...I love beautiful pieces of furniture that really are for more than just looks.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Rita, this is one of the best ideas I've seen yet! I keep my napkins in drawers which means they are stacked and not easy to see. I like the idea of the baskets and sorting by color. Now I just need to figure out where I could house some nice large baskets. LOL

What a fabulous collection you have and such a clever way to organize it! I love having them right at hand like that and organized by colors. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBoy, do I need something like this. We have an older home (119 yrs.) and storage is at a minimum. I have everything stored absolutely everywhere including under the furniture. As you can imagine my organization is a bit lacking and sometimes it's a bit frustrating to locate exactly what I need. On the other hand, when Imove stuff to vacuum I often get wodnerful surpirses!
ReplyDeletePlease have Larry to stop on by our house and build one of those for me! That is fabulous and - to quote SNL's Church Lady - SO convenient!!!!!! Incredible use of space and a great way to reuse that kitchen top! Bravo, Larry! Happy New Year, you guys!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great storage idea for your splendid napkin collection! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to keep them all together. Lovely and useful.
ReplyDeleteGREAT idea! I love it! Do you iron your napkins when you wash them or when you need to use them? I read the other day to iron in the winter when it isn't too hot in the summer. I thought that was a great idea!!! I should get all my napkins out and see how many I have:):) I might be surprised:):) SO glad I found your blog! Please come on over to visit me!!!! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteRita, This is a great idea. Not only do you have them handy you and hubby have pulled off a fabulous recycling job. Love the sofa table and the longaberer baskets are great.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower. Stop sometime and visit. Ginger
