I think this is a great tradition.
To travel with a picnic tea basket.
This is a vintage Chinese travel
tea-for-two basket.
My friend ordered tea while on a
train trip through China and this is how
it was served. She noticed that many
passengers brought their own tea baskets.
Some are tea for one and have single cups.
She bought a few and brought
these baskets home. Great gifts!
It all tucks nicely into this oval woven
rattan basket.
The fitted, and padded compartments hold
the tea pot and cups securely as well as
insulating the tea.
Keeping the tea nice and hot.
It's a good sized porcelain tea pot with
rattan handles.
Two matching cups.
I think it's very charming.
This would be so cute to bring on a car trip
or when we are paddling around in our canoe.
Cheers!

So cute. I am now on a mission to find a tea for one for myself. Hubby is not a tea drinker. He is a coffee man all the way.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE teh Chinese Tea Basket!! My husband & I were stationed in Okinawa, Japan several years ago, and that's where I attended my first tea ceremony and starting drinking hot tea. My friend gave me one for Christmas this year. She had found it in a closet in her house, and didn't know where it came from. She knows I drink hot tea and thought I would like it. She was right, I love it. was looking it up trying to find out more about it. Came across your post. Thank You, now I know
