Cloche Encounters & Family Room Tree

Christmas in our family room.
The sofa table
Apothecary jars filled with ornaments and pinecones.
A Swedish carved red tree under the cloche.
The family room tree is filled with colorful ornaments collected over the years. Most are handmade or bought at craft fairs or vintage ones found in thrift shops.
We seem to find a new spot for the tree every year.
This time we wanted to find a place to show the train and village set.
Vintage Christmas tablecloths are draped over the antique child's school desk. They belonged to Larry's mother. A colorful hand crocheted afghan was another thrift shop find.
The white duck gets a Christmas bow.
I found the train set and homemade track in a thrift store in Gainesville FL. We made a stop on our drive home from North Carolina. Luckily we didn't have much further to drive because it took up so much room in our van. The train works  and looks so cute going around the track under the tree.
coffe table
Needed to change the centerpiece so that it wouldn't block the TV while reclining.
I draped a Christmas quilt on the side of the antique pine armoire. Flipped Christmas liners out of the Longaberger baskets and added a wreath to the door
Then a friend gave me this little laundry line garland, so I added that.
A stack of thrifty throws I've collected that have Christmas colors.
Another antique child's school desk gets the Santa collection.
This is the breakfast bar that separates the kitchen and family room.
The kitchen photos are in older posts.
There are still more rooms decorated for Christmas. See you soon.
Cheers!

  14. I like the train under the tree, my father used to have a train under his tree as a child. I'm trying to decide if (and if so, where) I'll put a train up this year.
