Deck The Halls

The halls are decked.....into the kitchen
An antique wall shelf displays my collection of snow globes and Longaberger tree trimming baskets. It hangs above an antique drop leaf table.
Most are musical snow globes.
 "Frosty The Snowman"
 "Oh Christmas Tree"
"Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"
A set of four Christmas plates are hung with two on each side.

Across from the table stands an antique hall tree. It's trimmed in greenery and baskets.
I keep extra wrapping paper in an antique brass umbrella stand. Lucy likes the red papers. Notice I keep them from unraveling with old hair scrunchies....only the red, green and white ones, of course!
I then added and antique trunk and copper boiler with it's lid, more greenery, a holly tablesquare, and more baskets  accented with red splints and tied with red ribbons.
The Santa hats are ready to wear!

More "decking" to show tomorrow.....see you then.

Cheers!

TIP: Keep your gift wrap from unraveling by using empty cardboard tubes from toilet paper or paper towels.
Problem: out-of-control gift wrap.
Cut the tubes along the side.
They easily snap on and off and will not tear the paper.
Problem: solved with little effort and no cost.

  1. Hi Rita. I am new at this, My first blogging Christmas. I feel like I am in a candy store. Love your antiques. Your decanter collection and lean toward blue and white plates is very familiar with me. I felt like I was at home. Your decorations are beautiful and tastefully done. I especially like the inspiration for storing Christmas wrap. I could move right in.
I am your newest follower. Perhaps you will visit me and consider following me as well. Merry Christmas, Ginger

  4. Rita, just found your blog. The wrapping paper "at the ready" in the umbrella stand is a great idea! The toilet paper holders, too... I especially love your handpainted plates. Adorable!
