Yes, it gives me ideas:
about breakfast trays,
and English breakfast tea or coffee kept hot
in a hotel silver thermal carafe, and crustless
toast served in a shinny toast caddy,

and lace, and mornings that aren't rushed,
and English transferware for breakfast china.
I think it's almost ready for a Downton
morning breakfast service in bed.

I still need to gather a few more things,
the crystal jam pot, the sterling.....
and breakfast, and maybe watch the
latest episode too.

Oh, I don't blame you one bit. I love your breakfast tray. I think it's the prettiest one I have ever seen. I don't have one yet but it's on my list, for sure.
ReplyDelete*sigh* I would just love it if someone would bring ME breakfast in bed!!! This is a gorgeous set up...loved your roses. I miss my big beautiful yellow roses I had in FL. They bloomed all year long.
ReplyDeleteYour china looks like mine that I'm using next week for a Valentines Day dinner. It looks very feminine & pretty & romantic, too.
fondly,
Rett
p.s. Thanks again for sharing your beef with broccoli recipe. I am looking forward to making it again soon.
Oh no! Don't do that. Do you do like me and watch the clock every episode to how many minutes are left? :)
ReplyDeleteD
Just found your blog. Love it and also love the title of your post. I love to watch DA for such a romantic way of living - that is if I am a resident and not part of the staff.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!! I actually have an old Breakfast set with mini tea pot and toast holder. I need to get that out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special Valentine's Day "table!"
Oh, my... I would have to fix it myself and serve it to myself, but it's BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteRita, I must be the only person on the planet that has not seen this show. Love the red and white quilt and your pretty breakfast tray. Thanks for joining the Open House party.
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to Downton Abbey as well! I have cleaned and shined the silver tea service! What a fun Valentine's Day idea!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a breakfast tray like yours! I don't watch the show though, just haven't gotten into it:) Have a great weekend. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYou know, ever since this season of Down Abbey started I've decided to have afternoon tea. What a lovely tradition that is! And since I'm of English heritage I think I need to do that : )) Too bad I don't have anyone to serve me breakfast in bed!!
ReplyDeleteI love DA to! What a pretty breakfast tray! You have it all ready for someone to serve you!
ReplyDeleteI like your little toast holder/ I am wondering where you found that! I love slow mornings---and I am thankful to have them!
ReplyDeleteOh no, don't stop watching! We live in such a serious and at times sad world that it is important to keep beauty and whimsy with us whenever we can.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love your recipies
It's inspiring isn't it. I just started watching and may have to get my own breakfast tray together.
ReplyDeleteRita, this is so Downwton-esque! You have really captured it. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKaren
Love your breakfast tray and serveware ! I too love Downton Abbey !
ReplyDeleteAh, Downton Abbey, my only appointment TV. :-) We're so hooked! I don't even want breakfast in bed, just give me that library. Each week I've been posting a Downton Abbey recap so we rabid fans can voice our opinion on the latest episode. Beautiful photos, by the way!
ReplyDeleteyep, and how about the servant to prepare it all and bring it in? :) Little Bit from www.DecorateWithaLittleBit.com
ReplyDeletePerfection for a Downton Abbey scene! Your tray is so beautiful and I love the idea of breakfast in bed. The red willow china is a classic and is wonderful for Valentine's with the sweet red heart. The china, crystal, and silver are what I love to view in different scenes and recognize the different companies. Did you see the Herend china probably the Chinese Bouquet pattern being used I think for tea! Yes, I am watching Downton Abbey, too much? I'll never tell! Your wonderful setting is so pretty in the bedroom! Thanks for the ideas!

Love reading your blog. We have so much in common.
ReplyDeleteLovely breakfast tray worthy of Downton Abbey! I LOVE,LOVE that program. Can't wait til tomorrow night to see the next episode.
ReplyDeleteI have never had anyone serve me this way. They would have thought I was out of my head if suggested.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday. I await every episode of Downton, but I'd need six in help to do all the pretty little touches.
ReplyDeleteI love DA, and look fwd to it tomorrow night! Maybe I will have tea on a tray while I watch! Love yours...
ReplyDeleteHere from Pink Saturday.
We share your Downton obsession. I need to remind myself constantly- If I lived there and then- it would have been downstairs(:-
ReplyDeleteI love Downton Abbey, but I wasn't focusing on the tray. I couldn't take my eyes of that beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh...What a delightful Valentines post! I love all your red and white and the warmth it adds to a room.
ReplyDeleteDownton Abbey is one of my weaknesses, too. Just love watching!
Have a Happy Valentine's Day!
