Vintage Wire Market Cart

I'm going to start using this more.
It's a wonderful old wire market grocery cart
that's  perfect to bring on a weekend
flea market or picnic. I can tote all my
goodies to the park in vintage style.
I love its shabby blue handle. It's collapsible
and measures 11'x 15" x 37" when open.
Lucy agrees.
It's a shame to keep it in the garage
where it's shabbiness isn't appreciated.
First she needed to check it out.
I can fill it with afghans, or pillows,
or later, Christmas tree branches with
a tied on big red bow. I really
need to start using this more
My Mom had one of these and used it
when we lived only a block away from a
neighborhood grocery store.
Here I am the day I bought it to help haul all
my finds from the Canton, TX  Market Days.
I must have been too hot and tired to miss
that cute pink bike in the booth on the right.

  1. Hi there...oh I have one just like it and use it when I go flea marketing too. It's so handy. I love that it has that little foot lever that helps makes it collapse to store. I will have to pull out my afghans and put them in mine too! What a great inspiration you are for organizing! Love your blog :)

  2. Your new/old cart is so cute! I would love to have one to take to the flea markets to haul all of my treasures. What a great find!

  3. It's really cute and will be perfect for so many things! I went to Canton years ago when i lived in's a work out, isn't it? But FUN!

  4. Your ideas for toting, storing and decorating are all very nice, but I think the absolute BEST uses are as a Lucy bed and Lucy-mobile. She looks absolutely darling perched among the afghan and cushions.

  5. It brought back good memories of your mom and her cart. Do you still have that one from 34th street? Jeanie C

  6. I love it! Now I'm on the hunt for one to take the farmers market with Jack!

  7. Yeah, that thing is cool. Your Lucy is adorable! I bed you can do a lot of great decor with the cart...and Lucy! ha ha. Take care

  8. Oh I love it, they are so hard to find, and this is perfect. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

  9. Like your cart for sure, I have one and never have a chance to use it at a flea market so I have my long rolls of wrapping paper standing in it

I would love to go to Canton to see all the displays of treasures, loved seeing the pictures of canton

  10. Love your will come in handy at flea markets for sure!!! Your little Lucky is so adorable too :o)
