Visiting daughter Vicky and her family in New Jersey. They have a big front porch, which I love.
Give me a pot of tea, a book or my laptop and a beautiful day and you'll find me there.
Now, here's a peek at the living room.
Before: colors
After: The walls painted blue and a little rearranging.
Before: Built in bookshelves. I liked these so much that Larry built some for our hallway in Florida.

Before: Built in bookshelves. I liked these so much that Larry built some for our hallway in Florida.
After: The bookshelves were painted a very dark, almost black, green. They now make the room look so much richer. The ceiling was painted a creamy yellow.
I love how they turned out.
A gallery of family photos pop against a red wall in the entry hall.
All the bold colors from the exterior (see previous post) continue inside. Vicky's house is one block from
her downtown area. It's an easy walk to the train station, restaurants, shops, movie theatre, and library. Everything is close by.
Tomorrow we are taking the train into NYC. You're invited!
Cheers!
Rita

I just love the dark book shelves! I would like some built in my library. These would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love a wonderful porch, too. The changes in the living room are significant. The new book case color makes it a spectacular focal point. Thank you for sharing this lovely transformation. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteI love how dramatic your shelving came out...but of course I'm real partial to black furniture ;) Have a great week, fondly, Roberta

What a great space your daughter has. I can't wait to see your other posts about her home. And I agree, every blog needs a dog or three.
