Signs of Fall

I changed the top of the pie safe for Fall. I found a scrap piece of wood in the garage and painted it black. Then I used craft paint and just freehand painted the pumpkins.
I added a Longaberger Fall Foliage fabric bow and a fall leaf wreath. Two of my Evesham plates are on stands with basket and pumpkins in front.
A pumpkin sits on top of two large Longaberger baskets trimmed with ivy and fall garland. It sits next to the pie safe.
In the kitchen, I added the fall liners to my baskets,
and painted another little sign for under the kitchen cabinet.

Fall Salt & Pepper Sets

This antique English corner cupboard hangs in my dining room. It's one of my favorite pieces.
This is it's third home. I bought it when we lived in Barrington, IL.
Now it's the perfect storage spot for my seasonal salt & pepper collection.
These cute squirrels sitting on walnuts are from the 50's. They belonged to Larry's parents.
 Harvest fruit.
They are sitting on my fall dishes, Evesham by Royal Worcester. Three dessert plates are displayed on a silver three tiered server. A transition look on the dining room table.

Autumn Greetings

I change the front door decorations to get the feeling of the changing season.
I used a pot of colorful crotons to add Florida fall color.
I made a  monogram M out of cardboard, glue and jute string.
I then attached it to a Longaberger basket filled with
ferns, ivy and sunflowers and hung it to my glass front door
using a suction cups.
A few pumpkins and a bushel basket filled with pinecones
add a little touch of autumn to South Florida's still hot days.

Happy Fall!

Napkin Rings and Bruce Willis

Larry: (calling from the kitchen) What are Bruce Willis teapot napkin rings?
Me: (answering back from my office) I don't know. What are Bruce Willis teapot napkin rings?
Larry: You've got them on your list. Bruce Willis teapot napkin rings.
Me: What are you talking about?
Larry: I'm going to the store and checking your grocery list and you have written on here: Bruce Willis teapot napkin rings.
side note: he knows I have a "thing" for Bruce Willis
back story: Earlier that week I had seen the cutest Blue Willow teapot napkin rings on a blog and quickly jotted them down as a note to self to look out for them.
Me: That says BLUE WILLOW teapot napkin rings!
We couldn't stop laughing!

I got them yesterday and love, love them!
Here they are. I'd like to introduce you to Blue Willow teapot napkin rings
a.k.a Bruce Willis teapot napkin rings!
I bought four.
Love the detail.
Now I wish I had six!
Pretty with lace crochet edge white napkins.
They match my Blue Willow tea set.
And my Blue Willow dishes.
Perfect for afternoon tea.
 Waiting for Bruce!

Enjoy your day!

Sofa Table Storage

Larry built the sofa table to fit the black tile top that we removed from the kitchen island.
We replaced that top with the butcher block HERE. He also made the shelves to accommodate six large Longaberger baskets.
I use the baskets to store my large collection of table napkins.
I can pull each basket out completely.
I try to group them by color.
I have lots of blue and white.
And yellow.

The top row baskets hold napkins that are used the most.
Lucky is supervising.
The holiday ones (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) are stored in the bins with the  holiday decorations.
This is a convenient storage spot next to the breakfast nook.

Table Linen Storage

I store most of my table linens in this antique pie safe.
It has punched tin sides. I bought it at a Centerville Ohio Antiques Show in the 70's.
It has great storage and is not too deep. I've used it as a kitchen pantry before moving to Florida.
The top shelves hold small tablecloths and palcemats.

I've labeled the shelves so that I know which are square and which are round.

Placemats are bundled in sets and folded in half.

Some of my napkin rings fit into tennis cans.

I tuck them between sets.

Larger tablecloths and table runners are on the bottom.

Some of my napkin rings in sets in tennis cans.
My napkins are stored in basket bins in my sofa table. I'll show those in my next post.
My holiday things are in the holiday bins stored in the garage.
Oh, to have room to organize and store everything in one area! A fantasy!

Hello September!

 Isn't  September a great month?

It's from "You've Got Mail", one of my favorite movies. I watch it at least once a year.

September is all about change. You change your wardrobe, your menus, your schedule, your routine, your decor. You start school, start a project, or whatever you have planned. You start thinking about the upcoming holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. It's a burst of activity. I love September.

This bouquet is for you. Thank you for visiting and for following.
